CAREER RESULTS
2022-23 • SENIOR SEASON
• Won the Little Three Cross Country Meet with a time of 15:06.4 (Sept. 3)
• Finished sixth in the Paul Short Run, crossing the finish line with a time of 23:59.2 (Sept. 30)
• Placed second in the Canisius Alumni Classic, completing the 8k course in 24:58.3 (Oct. 15)
• Earned All-MAAC accolades at the MAAC Cross Country Championships, finishing the 8k race with a time of 24:34.9 (Oct. 29)
• Claimed third place in the 3,000-meter race at the SPIRE Midwest Open with a time of 8:25.12 (Jan. 21)
• Turned in a pair of top-10 finishes in the MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, placing fifth in the 5,000-meter race (14:37.38) and seventh in the 3,000-meter race (8:30.04) (Feb. 18-19)
• Posted the third-fastest time in school history in the 5,000-meter race at the Indoor IC4A/ECAC Championships, crossing the finish line in 14:15.11 (March 3-5)
• Took third place in the 5,000-meter race at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational, crossing the line in 14:59.11 (April 3)
• Recorded a pair of top-five finishes in the UB Spring Opener, taking third in the 3,000-meter race with a school-record time of 8:29.06 while running a leg of the 4x400 meter relay that placed fourth with a time of 3:46.81 (April 8)
• Posted the second-fastest time in school history in the 5,000-meter race, finishing with a time of 14:24.88 (April 14-16)
• Ran a leg of the 4x400 meter relay that took third in the UB Alumni Invitational with a time of 3:40.29 (April 22)
• Claimed fourth place in the 10,000-meter race at the MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, finishing with a time of 31:35.59 (May 6-7)

2021-22 • JUNIOR SEASON
• Claimed second place in the 8k at the Canisius Alumni Classic (Oct. 16)
• Posted an 11th-place finish in the 8k at the MAAC Cross Country Championships, earning All-MAAC accolades (Oct. 30)
• Placed second in the 3000 at the Highlander Invitational with a time of 8:43.81 (Jan. 22)
• Recorded a first-place result in the 5000 at the UB Team Invitational, crossing the finish line in 14:40.32 (April 23)
• Finished in fourth place in the 10000 at the MAAC Outdoor Championships (May 7)
• Earned All-East honors at the IC4A Outdoor Championships, finishing in fifth place in the 10000 (May 15)
• Named to MAAC Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track All-Academic Teams 

2020-21 • SOPHOMORE SEASON
• Finished 12th at the MAAC Cross Country Championships earning All-MAAC honors. 
• Recorded personal-best marks in the 1500, 5000, and 10000-meters throughout the season. 
• Finished fifth in the 5000 at the UB Invitational on April 17. 
• Was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team for both Cross Country and Track. 


2019-20 • FRESHMAN SEASON
• Finished second at the Little Three Championships behind teammate NicK Neamtu with a time of 15:54.5
• Finished 29th at the National Catholic Invitational with a time of 26:49.4
• Recorded a time of 25:24.4 at the Paul Short 8K, his fastest 8K time of the season
• Finished 134th overall at the NCAA Northeast Regional with a time of 31:08.3
• Competed in the 3K, 5K and Mile during the indoor season, setting PR's of 8:45.10, 15:06.9 and 4:35.54, respectively


BEFORE CANISIUS
• Ran cross country/track all four years at Cardinal O’Hara
• All-State (2x), First Team All-WNY (2x), Second Team All-Region and three-time XC All-Catholic Champion

• Son of Canisius Sports Hall of Famers Thomas and Heather (Whalen) Appenheimer
• Sister, Jacqueline, is a member of the women's cross country program at Canisius
