Adam Mourgas returned to his alma mater in September 2022, where he serves as the athletic trainer for both the Golden Griffin men's basketball and men's lacrosse teams. A 2017 Canisius graduate, Mourgas spent the previous two years at Gannon University in Erie, Pa.

At Gannon, Mourgas worked with the school's men's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving and women's lacrosse programs. In addition to his duties covering those teams, he worked closely with a large sports medicine staff of physicians, PA-Cs and physical therapists to provide exceptional care to Gannon's student-athletes, and he headed the bidding and ordering processes for both capital and non-capital purchases.

Mourgas acted as the concussion spotter for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC during the summers of 2021 and 2022. In that role, he communicated with officiating staff to ensure immediate medical attention for potential concussions during competition.

Prior to his time at Gannon, Mourgas served as graduate assistant athletic trainer at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J., where he worked with the Broncs' field hockey, men's and women's track and field programs and the school's baseball team. As an interim assistant athletic trainer at Canisius in 2018, Mourgas provided primary coverage to the Canisius men's lacrosse and volleyball teams, and also helped supervise clinical instruction for students in the athletic training education program.

Mourgas earned his undergraduate degree in athletic training from Canisius in May 2017, where he was a member of the Iota Tau Alpha Honor Society. He went on to earn his master's degree in athletic leadership from Rider in May 2020.
