Ja'Kye Womack 2023-24 Headshot

Ja'Kye Womack

Ja'Kye Womack completed his first season as the women's basketball director of basketball operations. In his role, Womack handles the team's travel, meals and day-to-day logistics, while also assisting in the planning and execution of team practice planning.

Head women's basketball coach Sahar Nusseibeh announced Womack as the program's newest director of basketball operations on June 15, 2023.

"We are pleased to welcome back a familiar face with the return of Ja'Kye," Nusseibeh said. "He impressed us throughout last season as a team manager, willing to do whatever we needed to make us better. Being a former student-athlete, Ja'Kye understands what it means to put the 'We before Me'. Ja'Kye's team-first mentality, his positive attitude, his strong work ethic and his ability to connect with people will prove invaluable for our program."

A former member of the Alfred football team, Womack assisted the women's basketball coaching staff with practices by serving as a practice player before joining the coaching staff ahead of the 2023-24 season. He, along with fellow manager Lexi Mesuch, were the only two managers to travel with the team for every road contest during the 2022-23 season. Womack also studied under former assistant Jared Zeidman to learn new coaching and basketball strategies.

Womack earned his undergraduate degree in sports management from Canisius in May 2023.
