Tyler Scheving

Tyler Scheving was elevated to head coach of the Canisius cross country/track programs in July 2022 after serving as interim head coach for the spring 2022 semester.

Serving as interim head coach, the Golden Griffins enjoyed a successful indoor and outdoor track season that saw the team established several personal and program records. Canisius also had a pair of medalists at the MAAC Outdoor Track Championships as Marissa Silba and Andrew Perreault both took home silver medals in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

Scheving arrived as an assistant coach on Main Street in 2019 after spending the previous two seasons as a member of the University at Buffalo cross country/track and field coaching staff as an assistant. While on staff at Buffalo, Scheving helped mentor the Bulls first-ever track athlete to participate in the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Prior to being on staff with the Bulls, Scheving was a Mid-American Conference Champion for Buffalo, where he competed in both cross country and track for five years. During his career Scheving was a three-time conference champion, with two distance medlay relay titles in 2014 and 2015, culminating with an individual title in the 800m in 2017.
