Moran Paces Cross Country at the Paul Short Run

Graduate Student Olivia Moran and graduate student Tom Appenheimer both posed top-30 finishes to lead Canisius in the 49th Paul Short Run presented by ASICS, Saturday at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pa.

Racing in the gold division 8k event, Appenheimer turned in a time of 24:34.7 to place 30th. Senior Max Chew (25:39.4/194th), sophomore Kyle Urban (25:56.0/238th), senior Ronan McDonald (26:07.9/269th), and graduate student Andrew Perreault (26:09.9/274th) rounded out the top five male runners for Canisius.

Led by Appenheimer, Canisius finished in 33rd place with a team total of 897 points, 10 points back of St. Joseph's (Pa.) (887). Yale won the men's race with a team total of 101 points. Wingate placed second (123) while Stony Brook was third (159).

In the women's gold division 6k race, graduate student Moran paced the Griffs with a 28th place finish, with a time of 21:03.0. Senior Jules Jones (22:10.7/156^th), junior Kayla Schmidt (22:27.1/181st), graduate student Marissa Silba (22:59.5/261st), and sophomore Jacqueline Appenheimer (23:10.0/281st) complete the top five runners for Canisius.

Led by Moran, the Golden Griffins took 33rd place with a team total of 834 points. Utah Valley took first in the women's race with 77 team points followed by Wake Forest in second with 129 and Boston University in third with 176.
