Golf Wraps Up Play at Bucknell Invitational

The Canisius golf team posted a team-score of 296 on Tuesday to place 15th in the field, and junior Ryan Edholm carded a one-under par score of 69, as the Golden Griffins closed out play at the Bucknell Invitational at Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa., Tuesday afternoon.

Edholm's 69 in the final round on Tuesday allowed him to finish the tournament tied for 27th with a three-round score of 218. The Tonawanda, N.Y., native capped his round with an eagle-3 on the par-5 ninth hole of the course. This fall season, Edholm has shot in the 60s three times, and his five career rounds in the 60s are the most for a Canisius golfer since 2000.

Freshman Alex Schickling carded a season-low 71 on Tuesday, as he finished the tournament with a score of 221, which tied him for 41st in the field. Fellow freshman Jake Dantonio shot 77 on Tuesday and finished the event tied for 79th with his three-round score of 228. Long Island's Lewis Wright won individual medalist honors with a three-round score of 203, which was seven-under par.

As a team, the Griffs ended the 54-hole event with a three-day total of 898, which was six strokes behind 14th-placed Cornell. Colgate won the team title at the Bucknell Invitational with a team-score of 839, which was five strokes ahead of second-place Long Island.

Canisius will close out the 2023 fall schedule Oct. 15-17 when the team travels to take part in the Sacred Heart Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn.
