Golf Wraps Up Day Two of the 2024 MAAC Golf Championship

Canisius junior Ryan Edholm shot a one-over par 73 and freshmen Jake Dantonio and Mikey Takacs each carded a two-over par scores of 74 on the second day of the 2024 MAAC Golf Championship Saturday at Disney's Palm Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

As a team, the Golden Griffins posted a team score of 299, which gives the Blue and Gold a two-round team total of 597. Canisius is in seventh place in the team portion of the event, 10 strokes behind sixth-place Manhattan.

Edholm's 73 on Saturday places in a six-way tie for 13th on the leaderboard. All six of those golfers are just three strokes back of the three golfers who are tied for ninth after the tournament's first two rounds. Players who finish in the top-10, including ties, are honored as All-MAAC. Edholm, who earned All-MAAC honors last year, is looking to become just the fourth Griff in program history to earn All-MAAC accolades on multiple occasions during his career.

Dantonio's 74 in the second round moved him into a tie for 23rd on the leaderboard, while Takacs moved up four spots to tie for 32nd in the field following his round of 74. Fairfield's Colin Summers and Siena's Mike McConie are tied atop the individual leaderboard heading into the final round on Sunday, as both golfers are six-under par (138) after 36 holes.

Siena is the top team in the tournament after the Saints fired a team score of 285 for the second-straight day. Fairfield is two strokes back of Siena, while Mount St. Mary's, Rider and Iona round out the top-five teams.

The third and final round of the 2024 MAAC Golf Championship will tee off at 7:54 a.m., on Sunday. The final round of the league's championship event will be broadcast live on ESPN+, with live coverage starting at 10 a.m.
