Golf Sits in Fifth After Day Two of Sacred Heart Fall Classic

The Canisius golf team sits in fifth place after the second round of the 2023 Sacred Heart Fall Classic, played Monday afternoon at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn. The Golden Griffins posted a team-score of 315 on Monday for a two-round score of 625, which leaves the team nine strokes behind fourth-place Fordham.

Freshman Alex Schickling carded a score of 73 on Monday. He is tied for 11th with his tournament score of 151. Fellow freshman Jake Dantonio shot a 79 on Monday, which puts him in a three-way tie for 32nd in the field, where he is joined by teammate Ryan Edholm.

Host Sacred Heart posted a team-score of 282 on Monday, which puts the Pioneers atop the team leaderboard by 15 strokes over second-place Rhode Island. Sacred Heart's Marcus Lim, who was tied atop the individual leaderboard after day one, sits in first place by himself after he shot a one-under par score of 71 in the second round.

The final round of the 2023 Sacred Heart Fall Classic will tee-off at 10 a.m., on Tuesday. That will mark the final fall round of the 2023-24 season for Canisius.

The second round of the Sacred Heart Classic is scheduled to tee off Monday at 10 a.m.
