Golf Finishes 10th at Red Bandanna Invitational

The Canisius golf team carded a final round score of 306 on Monday, highlighted by junior Ryan Edholm's two-under par score of 70, as the Golden Griffins finished 10th as a team at the Red Bandanna Invitational, hosted by Boston College, at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y.

The 10th place finish for the Blue and Gold stands as the team's best effort in nine tournaments played at the Kaluyhat Course at Turning Stone, roundly considered to be one of the toughest public golf courses in all of New York State.

Edholm's 70 on Monday allowed him to finish the 54-hole event with a score of 228, which placed him 28th in the field. Freshman Jake Dantonio, who posted back-to-back 75s on Sunday, returned to shoot a 74 in the final round. Dantonio's three-round score of 224 earned him a tie for 15th in the tournament. Fellow freshman Mickey Takacs shot a 75 in the final round to finish 65th in the 84-player field.

The Griffs will return to action Sept. 10-11 when the team takes part in the Cornell Fall Invitational at Watchung Valley Golf Club in Watchung, N.J.
