A record-setting performance by senior Maura Jordan highlighted the Canisius men's and women's outdoor track teams appearance in the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic Sunday in Lewisburg, Pa.
Jordan shattered the school mark in the women's 400 meter race, placing fifth with a time of 55.80 to become the first Griff to run a sub-56 time.
Sophomore Jacqueline Appenheimer won her heat in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:18.57. Senior Jules Jones also competed in the 800 meter, crossing the line in 2:17.84
Graduate student Olivia Moran, Jones and junior Kayla Schmidt all took part in the 5000 meter race, with Moran placing 18th with a time of 17:00.27, while Jones (17:14.37) and Schmidt (17:18.72) both posted PR's.
Senior Stephanie Seyfang also turned in a PR time in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.83. Freshman Aniya Hugley also recorded a PR in the 200 meter dash, crossing the line in 27.10.
On the men's side, graduate student Andrew Perreault led the way with a ninth-place finish in the 3000 meter race, finishing with a time of 9:22.23. Perreault also registered a PR in the 800 meter race, crossing the line in 1:55.31.
Senior Max Chew also set a PR in the 5000 meter race with a time of 14:49.79, which was good for seventh place in his heat.
Graduate student Tom Appenheimer competed in the 10000 meter race, crossing the line in 30:16.57 for a 23rd-place finish.
