A trio of first-place finishes for the women highlighted the Canisius men's and women's outdoor track teams appearance in the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational Sunday in Rochester, N.Y.

The Canisius women were led by senior Jules Jones, who broke the school record in the 800-meter race, placing first with a time of 2:17.01. Graduate student Olivia Moran won the 1500-meter race, crossing the line in 4:42.57, and sophomore Jacqueline Appenheimer rounded out the Golden Griffins' trio of first-place finishes with a win in the 5000-meter race in 17:58.70.

Junior Kayla Schmidt was right behind Moran in the 1500-meter, placing second with a time of 4:43.37. senior Maura Jordan took second in the 800-meter race, crossing the line in 2:17.12.

The women's 4x400 team of Jordan, Hugley, freshmen Ella Herman and Julia Hise took fifth place overall and first in their heat with a time of 4:23.33.

Senior Stephanie Seyfang also brought home two top-10 finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (16.96) and the 800-meter hurdles (1:11.87), placing eighth in the 100-meter and sixth in the 800-meter.

Freshmen Aniya Hugley and Payton Calkins rounded out the Griffs top-10 finishes on the women's side, with Hugley placing eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 1:01.48 and Calkins coming in ninth in the 5000-meter race with a time of 19:48.11.

On the men's side, graduate student Andrew Perreault led the way with a second-place finish in the 1500-meter race, crossing the line with a time of 3:56.46.

Sophomore Braden Tent (1:57.91) and junior Jacob Raichel (1:58.50) got the Griffs two more top-10 results in the 800-meter race placing fifth and 10th, respectively.
