1955-56 Men's Basketball Team

• Held a 4-0 record against Little Three rivals Niagara and St. Bonaventure
• Fran Corcoran's game-winning shot at Madison Square Garden gave Canisius the win against No. 2 North Carolina State, ranking as sixth-best NCAA Tournament upset in history, according to Sporting News.
• Prior to the tournament, Canisius won 17 of 23 games, including victories over Syracuse, Villanova, Boston College and Fordham.
• Four players from this team were named to the College's pre-1970's All-Century team in 2003-04.
• The 1955-56 squad finished with an overall record of 19-7.
• Fourteen players, two coaches and the team's trainer were all inducted in the Sports Hall of Fame
