Spiritual leader for countless Golden Griffin coaches and student-athletes for more than four decades.
No one has witnessed more Canisius games than "The Dugs," who was a regular for both home and away contests.
There is no pleasure without work, as Rev. Dugan had to secure sites for religious services, round up a congregation, engage in counseling and consoling, and also leading a traditional pregame prayer and cheering on the teams.
His favorite phrase, "Spread the Joy," a perfect example of his outlook on life.
Rev. Dugan's hard work and dedication for the Golden Griffins over the years have been recognized most significantly with the Rev. Paul J. Dugan Award named in his honor, which was established in 2013.
