Thomas Hersey, MS '69- Football Coach (1982-91)

• During his tenure, he recruited some of the finest athletes to play at Canisius, including two Academic All-Americans, six players who would later be inducted in the Sports Hall of Fame, and one who would have a career in the NFL
• His Golden Griffin squads earned victories over The University at Buffalo and Buffalo State College five consecutive times
• As a result of the football program's triumphs during his time at Canisius, the era of Hersey and the 1980s resulted in an overall record of 49-2-2 and he became the winningest coach in program history
