As a team captain his senior year, he helped lead the team to the 1996 MAAC Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament
In his time with the program, Canisius went to the postseason in three-straight years, including two NIT bids and the 1996 NCAA Tournament.
After he was sidelined with a thumb injury in the 1996 MAAC Tournament, the team won three straight games, dubbing the run "One for the Thumb".
Earned 1996 First-Team All-MAAC honors, Second-Team accolades in 1994 and 1995.
During his four-year tenure with the program, Griffs basketball won 72 games, including 34 conference victories.
