Four-year player and senior captain for the Golden Griffins basketball team.
As a senior, he scored 228 points and as a member of the baseball program, he was team captain and started at third base.
In 1953, he accepted a position at Canisius College to serve as the school's baseball coach, intramural director, freshman basketball coach and assistant varsity basketball coach.
Named Eastern Coach of the Year in Basketball, and was also named Coach of the Year in Western New York in both 1963 and 1964.
Served as the Griffs' head men's basketball coach until 1972.
