Canisius University Athletics

• He started the crew program and coached the team until 1979
• Member of the Lafayette High School crew that won the National Eight Oared championship in 1942
• Would also coach high school teams in Lafayette, Bishop-Timon, Canisius and St. Joe's, where he coached them to a world youth rowing championship regatta in 1968
• Earned numerous NYC Metropolitan Regatta championships and frequent trips to the prestigious Dad Vale Regatta in Philadelphia, which helped give the crew team a national reputation among small colleges
