Canisius University Athletics

• His coaching career at Canisius spans a quarter century through two sports
• Beginning in 1948, he would coach the cross country team each fall and the track team each spring
• He established the annual Canisius College Invitational Cross-Country Meet (would be renamed the Roesch Invitational), held every fourth Saturday in October
• Each year, more than 20 teams throughout New York State, as well as clubs from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and even Canada have participated in the event each year
